"Dodge Brothers Dual Cowl Phaeton"

It was a brisk fall evening Saturday at 6:30 pm in Reno Nevada. The bidders on the big-money cars begin bidding at about 11 am and taper off at about 2 pm. My eyes were drawn to a 1920s elegant car that I didn't recognize ,,, but my oh my it was good looking. By the auction stock number taped to the windshield, I figured the My oh my car bidding would begin at 6-7 pm. I waited and waited….and waited some more … nearly four hours until bidding began. Late by auction standards, just a few persons remained and only 3 bidders, me and 2 others. The other bidders dropped out quickly. My hand went up My oh my was mine. As usual, a pretty auction representative gives a ticket to the winning bidder. Walking from the car arena to the auction office, I felt a tap on my shoulder, bringing me to a dead stop. The tapper, a nice guy, explained he missed the fast bidding action because he was smoking outside. He offered me 5000.0 for my ticket, which I declined. After purchase and research, I learned the car was originally purchased by the Wrigly chewing gum family in in 1928. The My Oh My purchase was a one-off Dodge Brothers Dual Cowl phaeton…very rare!
